US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he had “very good discussions” about Russia and Ukraine in recent days, without providing other details in this regard, reports Reuters.
In some statements made for reporters while returning to the White House after a weekend in Florida, Trump was asked if he intends to have a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Saudi Arabia, when he will travel there this month.
He replied that he did not think about this, but that “I had some very good discussions” about Russia and Ukraine in the last days.
“There is a lot of time there,” Donald Trump said.
The war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine entered the fourth year on February 24, 2025. Recently, Vladimir Putin proposed a three-day armistice for May 8-10, in the context of Victoria Day.
“I am not the first challenge, nor the first promises made by Russia about a cessation of fire. We know what we have to do, we do not believe them,” said Volodimr Zelenski during a press conference with the Czech President Paul.
