A spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw Piotr Skiba confirmed that last week in one of the proceedings regarding the Justice Fund as a witness was questioned by the former head of MS Zbigniew Ziobro. The audition took place in a very good atmosphere, it was very long and exhausting – he pointed out.

Unofficially about the case on Thursday was informed by RMF24, indicating that last week's interrogation lasted three hours, and his theme was the letter of PiS head Jarosław Kaczyński of 2019 regarding the use of the justice fund during the election campaign. The radio also stated that the interrogation was carried out pursuant to art. 183 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, enabling the witness to evade the answer so as not to be exposed to criminal liability.

In a conversation on TVN24, a spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw Piotr Skiba confirmed that the audition occurred and Ziobro was questioned as a witness. He added that the interrogation took place in a very good atmosphere, it was “very long and exhausting.” “We don't anticipate again,” he said.

As he pointed out, the proceedings in question were initiated from the notification of MP Roman Giertych, and applies to, among others Letter directed by Kaczyński to Ziobra, found during a search at the former deputy head of MS Marcin Romanowski, responsible for having money from the Justice Fund.

His content in July last year was informed by Gazeta Wyborcza, writing that Kaczyński asked Ziobra “for immediate prohibiting the candidates of Solidarity Poland to use the Justice Fund in the election campaign.” “I draw the attention of the Minister that cases that are already talked about in the environments of our coalition, if they are true, can bring fatal effects both from the point of view of the campaign and for reasons related to its settlement before the National Electoral Commission,” Gazeta cited the content of the letter.

“After the notification, the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw initiated an investigation into the failure to comply with official duties by a deputy to the Sejm in connection with not informing about significant circumstances that could affect the assignment of subsidies for the political party,” Prosecutor Skiiba said on Friday. He added that in parallel, the issue of possible failure to comply with official duties by the then Prosecutor General and the head of MS.

A spokesman for the prosecutor's office informed that “numerous interrogations” had already been held in the case, including, in December last year, the hearing of the head of PiS Jarosław Kaczyński. He added that the prosecutor's office wants to question additional witnesses, especially Romanowski, which is difficult, however, because he is currently in Hungary. The spokesman also confirmed the previous information of RMF FM radio that the interrogation took place pursuant to art. 183 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. (PAP)
