US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he wants a “real ending” of the conflict between Iran and Israel, and not just a suspension of weapons. In an interview with reporters on board Air Force One, he emphasized that Iran could not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.

During the return flight from the G7 summit in Canada, Trump said that it is possible to send a USA for the Middle East Steve Witkoff or US vice president JD Vance to meet Iran's leaders.

In his opinion, Israel will not soften the attacks on Iran in the near future. Asked by the CBS journalist about the scale of planned Israeli attacks, he replied: “You will learn this in the next two days. (…) None of the parties have slowed down the pace so far.”

When asked if the US can do something more for Israel, he told reporters that “we are doing quite well now.” “Remember, Iran cannot have nuclear weapons,” he emphasized.

When exchanging sentences with a journalist of the Politico portal, he added that he expected Iran's “complete resignation”. Trump said that he did not turn to Iran about peace conversations in any way or in any form, saying that “he is not in the mood of negotiations now.” In the post on the Truth Social portal, he repeated that Iran “should have been adopted a contract that was on the table.”

In terms of potential Iran's attacks, Trump announced: “We will answer sharply if they do something to our people.” “I think (Iranians – PAP) know that they should not move our soldiers,” he added.

The American Think Tank Council on Foreign Relations estimates that 40-50 thousand are stationed in the Middle East. American soldiers in at least 19 locations. Eight of them are permanent bases, located in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. (PAP)
