As reported by the Daily NK portal, the case concerns a 50-year-old man who died of a heart attack on April 13. His family, despite his fresh mourning, was forced to speed up the funeral and end it the day before the date to avoid disturbing state celebrations, and to avoid the risk of accusations of lack of loyalty to the regime.

Kim Ir Sen's birthday became an official state holiday in 1962. A decade later he was given the importance of the most important celebration in North Korea.
