Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 12.00, had expressed their vote for the presidential elections 2025 over 160,000 Romanians from the Diaspora, over 2.5 times more than they had voted on November 23, 2024, when they had their choice almost 62,000 Romanians.

The number of Romanians from abroad who voted until Sambăta, at 12.00, was 161,172 people, of which 4106 expressed their vote by correspondence, according to the data published by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP). Percentage, the votes from abroad represent 0.90% of the total of 17,988,031 voters registered on the permanent lists.

The Permanent Electoral Authority informed that the total number of voters registered in the permanent electoral lists for the election of the President of Romania, from November 24, 2024, is 18,008,480 citizens, and that of Romanians with their domicile abroad who are voting to this poll is 989.230 persons.

Last year, 6,721 Romanian citizens from abroad opted for the correspondence vote by registering on the Votstrainate.ro website and registered in the permanent electoral lists abroad for the correspondence vote, and 6,589 Romanian citizens from abroad opted for the vote at the voting section by registering on the Votraine.ro website.
