April was an extremely difficult month on the financial markets, because the full -scale customs war that Donald Trump unleashed, shocked with stock exchanges around the world. The portfolio of stars consisting of all instruments, however, swam through this agitated ocean with a dry foot, reaching a rate of return of 5 percent. In addition, the fact that individual victory was provided by the shares of the Polish company with the WSE.
In the results of the stars portfolio for April it can be seen that the SPW shares in most cases gave you a good earning. The two largest rates of return have been developed on the national dance floor. They also reflected the cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin at the forefront, and the next month in the plus scored gold, but as expected by the Bankier.pl Investment Committee, his miners were doing better.
Undoubtedly, this year's editions of the stars portfolio, since Donald Trump became the president of the US, requires the project participants more attention in the selection of instruments for a given month, because in their analysis, apart from economic trends, macroeconomic data, charts analysis must take into account the greater importance of the policy of the new US administration, which turns out to have the greatest impact on the current sentiment of investors.
In this difficult attempt to build the best results in the monthly periods, the rate of return on the portfolio of stars made of all 21 proposals on April was 5 percent. The result is all the more noteworthy because the safe haven, which is gold, has survived a bit worse. In turn, the star of global stock markets, which is this year, WIG20 gained only 1.8 percent. Not to mention the benchmark reference to the S&PC, which was under a line by nearly 0.8 percent.
The winner again from the WSE
However, it's time to look at the best three when it comes to the results of individual participants of the stars portfolio. The highest rate of return among all assets was developed by the actions of the biotechnology company Biocletix from the WSE, which works on animal drugs. Albert Rokicki from Longterm Games and the Longterm .pl blog chose these qualities and thus obtained 26 percent. rate of return. It must be admitted, however, that the potential investment required controlling emotions, because there were sessions at which the company's course lost over 10 percent. Whoever withstanded it, however, could earn nearly 30 percent.
The second place was taken by Jarosław Grzywiński, former president of the WSE and BCC expert for capital markets, who focused on the so -called Index of fear, i.e. VIX CBEE (10.9 percent). This is the measure of the expected variability of the stock market based on the prices of options for the S & P500 index. It is worth adding that when in the first half of the month a real storm by Trump's customs lasted in the markets, VIX showed a rate of return of up to 170 percent. VIX is inversely correlated with the S&P 500 index – the increase in VIX value often accompanies declines on the stock market, in addition based on it investment instruments should be considered highly speculative at a high level of risk of losses.
The third place was taken by Sobiesław Kozłowski, i.e. the head of the Noble Securities Analysis Department, who greatly selected two of the three WSE companies on which he set up in April. XTB (20.3 percent), beating a historic peak, gave a lot. CFD broker shares usually do very well during increased volatility, because the company simply earns on it. Virtual Poland (9.8 percent) also survived decently, but the portfolio was pregnant by Celon Pharma (-1.7 percent), which did not announce the expected partner. The whole wallet has gained 9.4 percent.
Among the 14 summary editions of the stars portfolio, as many as 7 times the assets from our stock exchange gave victory. Since the start of the project, we have a total of 9 winners, of which Jarosław Fuchs won 3 times. Based on cryptocurrencies, and Sobiesław Kozłowski, Sebastian Buczek and Albert Rokicki after 2 times, always based on assets from the WSE. Just like prof. Krzysztof Borowski, who has one win. Katarzyna Szwarc, Piotr Kuczyński and Jarosław Grzywiński won thanks to foreign assets, from outside the cryptocurrency market, and Tomasz Prusek, of course, received his laurel thanks to the choice of gold.

About the “Star Wallet” project
The “Star Portfolio” project is the educational initiative of Andrzej Stec, the editor -in -chief of Bankier.pl, in which well -known people from the Polish world of finance and stock exchanges are divided by their investment ideas for a given month.
