Elena Lasconi, formerly supported by the USR for the candidacy for the Presidency of Romania, spoke on Thursday, in an interview with Europa FM, about the chances of survival of the party after the election campaign. According to her, the future of the USR is closely related to what will happen at the first round of elections, scheduled for June 4, reports News.ro.
“It depends a lot and why it happens on the 4th, because I know that on the 5th and they set up a movement with a political committee, they want to make a congress, they are very agitated ”Lasconi said, referring to some of his party colleagues.
She claims that they seriously affect the image and stability of the formation: “I do a lot of harm to the party and I am glad that they are related to many members, thousands of members from the base of the party. I am and now, they help, they are volunteers, they are on several groups, they try to help with what they can, they go out, they share flyers. They do a lot of harm and I am afraid that no one will ever want to apply, or very few, to the position of USR president or the candidate for president. ”
Lasconi also criticized the lack of coherence of management and repeated calls to external solutions: “If we look at salvations all the time, we will not have credibility anymore”.
She added that the USR image suffers when the party seems hesitant: “It seems to me stupid this thing. People do not vote USR, as Kinder's eggs vote, buy them and see later the surprise. So it is important to convey the message that you are strong, because you, in fact, do nothing but a party that has no resources”.
Previously, Elena Lasconi was withdrawn from political support and her access to campaign funds was blocked. Thus, Lasconi remains the president of the party and the official candidate of the USR at the presidential elections. Subsequently, Elena Lasconi announced that the JCCJ confirms the BEC decision that prohibits the party to make another candidate campaign.
