The West shakes with his own hands international financial architecture, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, after the end of the meeting of the Foreign Ministries of the BRICS group, held in Brazil.
“The Western minority shakes with its own hands international financial and economic architecture” – said Sergei Lavrov, on Tuesday, according to the Ruse Tass State Agency, taken over by Rador Radio Romania.
Lavrov stressed that, at the BRICS meeting, special attention was paid to the need to continue the efforts to promote the reform of the international monetary and financial institutions.
“First of all, a revision of the quotas of the International Monetary Fund, so that this quota system reflects the real weight of the countries in the south and eastern world in the global economy and in global finances,” said Lavrov.
“Most of the delegations have underlined in this context the destructive nature of the policy of the collective West, which may no longer be entirely collective, but all the representatives of the West have the same goals, namely to continue to live on others and to use neocolonial practices for this purpose,” Lavrov insisted.
“This includes illegitimate unilateral sanctions, the role of role of their currencies in the international financial system and unjustified commercial protectionism, including the so-called tariff wars, which is much talked about today,” concluded the head of Russian diplomacy.
