The national team of the Curacao Islands produced a huge surprise, managing to qualify for the first time at the World Championship, after the “white” draw with Jamaica in the last stage of the preliminary round. Following this performance, the Federation will receive 10 million euros from FIFA.

The revelation was made even by the selector Dick Advocaat (78 years old), according to sportnieuws.nl.

The 2026 World Championship will be held in 3 countries: USA, Mexico and Canada. It will take place between June 11 and July 19. It will be the first tournament in history with 48 teams

12 European, 6 South American, 3 Central American, 8 Asian, 1 Oceanic and 9 African teams, along with the three host countries, are already safe participants in the next World Cup. Another 6 teams will qualify after the European and intercontinental playoffs.
