Revolut announced that he is starting to prepare for the introduction of telecommunications services. The Revolut Mobile pilot will start in Great Britain and Germany, and later telephony will enter the next European markets. Monthly mobile plans will include unlimited voice calls, text messages and domestic data transfer, combined with a data transfer package abroad.
Users of the new service will be able to move to Revolut from the current network by maintaining their phone number. They will also be able to choose a number proposed by FinTech. As we read in a press release, the introduction of telecommunications services is a consequence of the success of virtual ESIM cards with internet data packages that the company made available last year. Customers activated and used millions of data packages in over 100 locations around the world.
– In our opinion, European consumers suffer from a poor offer of telecoms, lack of transparency of contracts, hidden fees, excessive prices, generally painful customer experience and UX difficult to service – he says – said Hadi Nasrallah, General Manager, Telco & Retail Director in Revolut.
– We want to solve all these problems, providing clients with technology -based experience, the best value and lack of permanent contractual obligations. This is another Revolut step on the telecommunications market, where the innovation is desperately late and needed – he adds.
Mobile Plans will debut on two pilot markets – Great Britain and Germany at the end of this year. Later they will appear in the next markets in Europe. Revolut customers can sign up for the waiting list. They will be the first to access the service and provide themselves with a promotional price for a package of EUR 12.50 per month. Mobile plans will include unlimited voice calls, text messages and national data transfer, connected to the data transfer package abroad.
Fintech Revolut started in 2015 with a simple application that facilitates currency exchange. Today he has a bank license, and the range of its services is growing at a rapid pace. The brand serves over 50 million customers around the world, and in Poland it aims at 5 million. In addition to strictly banking products, Revolut offers customers services facilitating travel – e.g. hotel rental, access to airports salons, ESIM cards with data packages and many others.
