The fire broke out on the first floor of a house in Szumowo. Despite the quick intervention of the fire brigade and rescuers, 54-year-old Irena Rupińska and her two-year-old grandson died. The death of a well-known entrepreneur in the region shocked the local community. The authorities of the Zambrów district expressed their condolences on the zambrow.org website.

Irena Rupińska's company has been operating for 30 years
Irena Rupińska and her husband have been running the ZPK Rupińscy company since 1995. The company specializes in the extraction of construction and road aggregates. Their second company – Natrix – was established in 2011 and produces precast concrete elements.
The Rupiński family has appeared on the lists of the richest Poles several times. In 2016, they took 85th place in the Forbes magazine's ranking of the 100 richest Poles. A year later, they were one position higher in the same ranking, with assets estimated at PLN 518 million.
