Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu would have charged Emil Hurezeanu, the Foreign Minister, to negotiate with the Vienna Executive to organize a common governmental meeting before the Austria-Romania in CM Preliminaries! Through FRF's house man, Vasile Dâncu, PSD vice -president, several ministers would have already requested invitations to the match on the “Ernst Happel” stadium, June 7, 9:45 pm
The “tricolors” will start again on June 7, in Vienna, the route to the World Cup, with a traveling match against Austria, the series head from the draw. After the start of Șchiop, defeat at home with Bosnia (0-1) and a service victory in San Marino (5-1), Mircea Lucescu's band is obliged to remove at least one draw in the heart of Europe to keep the group's winning calculations, drastically ended since the Stramba debut with Ex-Iugoslavii. But the match on the “Ernst Happel Stadion” risks being used by politicians for an attractive travel at the beginning of summer!

Specifically, government sources claim that Bucharest is trying to negotiate with the Vienna Executive a fixed common meeting in the morning of the Austria – Romania, so that the ministers from the Ciolacu Government, those who want, can attend the football match in the evening!
“The prime minister in charge of Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu to talk to Vienna to organize this common meeting in the margin of the Austria – Romania,” says GSP sources. From March 3, 2025, the leader of the Austrian government is Christian Stocker, who succeeds to former Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
This was a long time the main opponent of the complete integration of Romania in the Schengen area, in which, after multiple diplomatic steps, our country finally joined in two steps: March 31, 2024 (air+maritime) and January 1, 2025 (land).
In fact, Hurezeanu, former ambassador to Austria (2021-2024), recently returned from Vienna, where he made an official visit on April 24 and 25! Among other things, he met President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Christian Stocker.
“Travel in group, on public money, under the pretext of the match”

In fact, FRF sources show that, through Vasile Dâncu, PSD vice -president on European affairs and a close relative of the head of the Federation, Răzvan Burleanu, several ministers would have already requested invitations to the Vienna match! “I am about to organize a group trip, on public money, under the pretext of the Austria – Romania match,” they offer official details close to the subject.
Currently, it is unclear what could be the common agenda of a reunited government session Vienna-Bucharest, in the context in which the “Schengen theme”, which has held the foreground for a long time, has already passed the hardest phase, that of the full acceptance of Romania in the respective space. But two other punctual themes, open, according to MAE.ro, and at the recent visit of Hurezeanu to Vienna, would be the collaboration on the war in Ukraine and the accession of Romania to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a strategic priority in Bucharest.
GSP has requested official points of view at the FRF and the Government of Romania, to offer the answers when they come from the two institutions.
