CFR Cluj – Rapid 1-1. Costel Gâlcă, the coach of the Giulești team, analyzed the draw in Gruia, which led to Betano's elimination from the Romania Cup.

Rapid needed a win to go to the quarterfinals of the Cup. After the draw with CFR Cluj, the Giulești team finished with 4 points and finished in 3rd place, below Argeș and CFR.

Costel Gâlcă stated that the bad pitch led to the game with CFR Cluj, considering that this was the main reason for the performance in Gruia.

Costel Gâlcă: “I put pressure only after I scored”

We put pressure after we scored, we had two strikers, we had a chance to come back. We could have won the game, it's a shame we didn't play like that earlier.

The pitch was very bad. We need to take the ball to the rim faster, come up with more crosses, have presence in the box. Too bad we missed this item, it was important to everyone.

We have to focus on the championship, give everything there. We changed the players, we looked at the number of minutes. The pitch also contributed to our game”, declared Gâlcă, on Prima Sport 1.

It hurts a lot. I didn't like how it was played, on a very difficult ground. It's incredible to play on such a pitch. I have a veterinarian friend here in Cluj and he told me that where he goes to vaccinate the sheep looks better. This is not an excuse, but the first shot on goal was in the 80th minute. I knew from the moment I saw the pitch how the game was going to be. Unfortunately, it ended in a draw. We had a chance to win in other matches, with Argeș for example.
