The presidential USR candidate, Elena Lasconi, said on Monday, in the first television debate organized at the Cotroceni Palace, that the Union Save Romania Party must be reformed, claiming that “if no heads fall, the USR goes to the head”.

“I tell you how I said last year and nobody believed me: I will get to the second round and I will become the President of Romania, this will definitely happen. Yes, I leave USR, but I would still like that, because I am in a team in difficult times, I do not leave the boat in the difficult times, if it is not to reform. Lasconi said, asked if he will leave the USR and return to the Campulung City Hall, in the event of a failure at the presidential elections, according to Agerpres.

She said that in the negative version she will return to the town hall.

Asked if he would leave USR in all variants, Elena Lasconi replied that the party leader will remain.

“I remain the president of the USR because I was voted with a universal vote by 70% of my colleagues, and the presidential candidate voted for the Congress with 95%. USR does not mean 16 people,” Lasconi said.

The candidate also stated that he wants Ilie Bolojan as a prime minister, and the Government to be made up of PNL, USR, PSD and UDMR.

“I was very clear: with Ilie Bolojan, then I saw that I was plagiarized. Everyone wants Ilie Bolojan. I know why I wanted this, because I admire him a lot, he has decades of experience in the administration. The taxes are increasing, most likely VAT ”, said Elena Lasconi, asked with which majority and what prime minister she aims to work, if she will be president.

She also said that she wants USR to enter the government.

“I will never lie and I will never lie to Romanians. This is what I want to do and I think I can find an agreement because I think there is a dialogue at PNL and PSD and UDMR,” added Elena Lasconi.
