On Tuesday, the Three Seas Initiative will expand to include Montenegro and Albania, as associated countries, and Türkiye and Spain will join as strategic partners – President Andrzej Duda informed, during a Belvedere.

“This year's peak is particularly important due to the current geopolitical situation and a war on the eastern border of Poland” – emphasized the president at the opening of a high -level business event within the 10th peak of the Three Seas initiative. The event was also attended by the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković and US Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

The president announced that “the Three Seas Initiative is expanding to include new countries that want to strengthen cooperation in the region.” He explained that it is about Montenegro and Albania, which on Tuesday will officially become associate countries participating in the Tri -Moleza initiative.

Türkiye and Spain will join the initiative as strategic partners. “I believe that thanks to these new participants, cooperation in this format will become more fruitful,” said President Duda.

He also thanked Prime Minister Plenkovic, who, as he reminded, would host the next peak of the Tri -Sea initiative and secretary Wright, who – as the president pointed out – “is a representative of one of our strategic partners.”

On Monday in Warsaw, the 10th peak of the Three Seas initiative begins. President Andrzej Duda is the host of the jubilee meeting. The main plenary session with the participation of heads of states and heads of government of the Tri -Morzek initiative will take place in the capital at the Royal Castle on Tuesday.

According to PAP, the spokeswoman of President Diana Głownia will come to the top, a total of 23 delegations, including 12 presidents. During the summit, there will also be representatives of the USA, Japan and other non -European countries, including Arab countries.

Currently, there are 143 projects implemented under three infrastructure categories: transport, energy and digital priority projects. Some of them have already been implemented in full. The most important from the perspective of the strategic interests of the Polish -Lithuanian Commonwealth include: gas interconnection with Lithuania and Slovakia, the express road Via Carpatia, railway corridor of the Ten -T Baltic -Adriatic base, Rail -2 -SEA – railway connection between the ports in Gdańsk and Konstancy.

The appointment of the Tri -Morzece initiative was initiated by the presidents of Poland Andrzej Duda and Croatia Kolinda Grabar -Kitarović during the meeting of the leaders of the region countries in the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York in 2015. This year is recognized as the beginning of the Tri -Morska cooperation, while the inaugural peak of the initiative took place in Dubrovnik in 2016.

The initiative initially gathered 12 EU Member States: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary. In 2023, this group increased by Greece and currently has 13 participating countries and two associate participating countries – Ukraine and Moldova. The strategic partners of the Tri -Millerz initiative are: the United States, Japan, the European Commission and Germany. (PAP)
