Answering the question of whether the company intends to raise ticket prices, Malinowski said that “no decisions were made” in this matter.

According to the company's earlier information, PKP Intercity ticket prices are dynamically shaped, which means that the ticket price is not dependent on the overtaking with which it is bought, and the availability of individual promotional tickets depends on the popularity of a given train. So sometimes it is enough to choose a train with a slightly less popular time to buy a cheaper ticket.

Recently, PKP Intercity introduced ticket prices in January 2023. Then the base prices of disposable tickets on Pendolino trains increased by an average of 17.8 percent, on EIC trains by 17.4 percent, and in TLK/IC an average of 11.8 percent. The company justified the increase in ticket prices by increasing electricity prices.

At the beginning of February 2023, the company withdrew from its decision. PKP Intercity then explained that returning to previous prices is possible in connection with additional optimization activities and by increasing compensation under the agreement regarding the provision of public services (PSC, Public Service Contract). The then Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk informed that in 2023 PKP Intercity under the PSC agreement would receive PLN 1 billion 290 million and an additional PLN 575 million from the budget.

In 2024, PKP Intercity also did not raise ticket prices, after in November 2023 the government decided to increase 6.5 billion of compensation for the carrier in 2024–2030 for the implementation of the inter -voivodship railway passenger transport under the PSC agreement. In 2024 it was PLN 603 million.

At the end of December 2020, the Ministry of Infrastructure signed a framework agreement with PKP Intercity for the provision of public services in rail transport within the inter -voivodship and international railway passenger transport. The value of the contract amounted to 21 billion 91 million 224 thousand. zloty. The subject of the contract, called PSC, is the provision of PKP Intercity public services in the scope of inter -voivodship railway passenger transport in 2021–2030. The purpose of the contract is to increase the share of rail transport in the passenger transport market and further development of the railways as the most ecological means of public transport

PKP Intercity is the largest Polish railway operator, which provides communication between large cities and popular tourist centers in the country, and also allows traveling around Europe. PKP Intercity trains took 78.5 million passengers last year, i.e. 15 % more than a year earlier and 33 percent more than in 2022.

The company offers traveling four categories of trains. Your railway lines (TLK) and Intercity (IC) are economic connections, while Express Intercity (EIC) and supported by Pendolino Express Intercity Premium (EIP) vehicles – express connections.

The carrier's estimates assume that this year it will increase the number of passengers transported to 88 million, in 2030 – to 110 million (PAP)
