The SBU believes that the 42-year-old contractor and his 24-year-old wife, led by special services of the Russian Federation, were preparing terrorist attacks in the Dnieper.
“In order to complete the task, the defendants arranged six caches with homemade explosive devices and grenades F-1 on the territory of the regional center and its environs. The enemy planned to subsequently recruit a new group of agents who were supposed to get explosives from caches and use it for detachments in crowded places.” – said law enforcement officers.
In addition to preparing caches with explosives, the couple controlled the implementation of sabotage by other agents of the Russian Federation, says the investigation – for example, the defendants recorded the consequences of the arson of the post office committed by other agents, and sent the report to Russian curators. During the search, they took home -made bombs, as well as the phones where their correspondence with the invaders was recorded.
Suspicion is reported under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – part 2 of Art. 111 (state treason committed in conditions of martial law), part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of combat supplies or explosives), part 2 of article 263-1 (illegal manufacture of an explosive device committed by preliminary conspiracy by a group of persons).
The court sent a couple of custody without the right to pledge. Sanctions of articles provide for life imprisonment.
