Okła-Drewnowicz in an interview with the newspaper was asked about a project regarding senior rental and analysis indicating how many people can really use this solution. As she noted, the knowledge that we have prisoners of the fourth floor is common. She added that the government is also aware that there will be more and more people with this dynamic aging of society.

“On the other hand, when we started looking for specific data about them, it turned out that they were not available. That is why we used the international survey of Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement. – she noted.

To the remark that the data of the National Institute of Senior Economy shows that 60 percent seniors are the owners of apartments, however 80 percent of them are not interested in changing their place of residence, she replied: “The fact that older people are often not willing to change the apartment – it is obvious.”

“On the other hand, the situation of the elderly several dozen or even a dozen or so years ago living on the third, fourth floors was different than today. Then the seniors had children around them. Now, especially in poviat cities, where four -story blocks dominate, on the upper floors, people often live in two -, three -room apartments, because they once lived with families” – noted the minister. “

She added that these people are within eighty years, and their children are fifty -year -olds, who in the nineties – in the era of high unemployment – went to large cities for work.

“Being in one of the programs, I was surprised how many people, during a street probe, said: I am still doing today, but in the future I do not know how it will be and I could use such a solution. Recently in another program I was also duty at the phone for half an hour and please believe that people asked if they would qualify for senior rental. percent is thousands of people.
