The interim president of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, said on Saturday that if he were a candidate for the presidential elections, he may have won, but would have compromised the ruling coalition. “It's a victory at Pirus: you stay with the function, but the country needs stability, not a man in a position,” said Bolojan, in a show on Prima TV..
Bolojan said on Saturday that Romania needs political stability and competent people in all key functions to overcome economic difficulties. “To remove the country from this complicated budgetary area in which it is, we need a political critical mass. The political world is sprayed. Think that no party has a share of more than 25% in the Parliament. To make a majority, you have to bring at least three parties. You can imagine some parties that have been in the campaign,”
He said about the collaboration between the President of Romania and the parliamentary majority that it will be essential in the next period, regardless of who will occupy these positions.
“If in the next period it will not be a good collaboration between the President of Romania and the parliamentary majority, no matter who they are, it is only a problem until Romania will have very big complications, the first budgetary, then economic, which will affect the winnings of people,” Bolojan said.
Asked about his own candidacy for the presidential elections, Bolojan said that the decision not to enter the race was motivated by the desire to maintain political stability.
“If I were a candidate, you may have won the elections, but I had a coalition made dust. You know, it is an expression, victory at Pirus, stay with the elephant, stay with the function, but this country does not need a man to be in office. -, which in turn will create good teams and make public policies to generate development, ”explained Bolojan.
