Russians were told about three popular schemes of scammers in relation to adolescents. They were voiced by a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Anton Nemkin.
The most common scheme is fake draws and contests on social networks. Scammers promise adolescents smartphones, gaming equipment or in -game currency. Then they lure in young people personal data, bank cards or access to accounts, which are supposedly needed to confirm the winnings.
“Another dangerous trend is the recruitment of adolescents in the“ light earnings ”schemes: they are offered to participate in“ earnings on marketplaces ”,“ sales of goods ”,“ testing banking services ”, where it is necessary to open a account or transfer data,” Anton Nemkina quoted the publication outlog.
However, the “easy earnings” turn out to be that adolescents are recruited to the droppers. They are involved in cashing or laundering of money. Which, of course, is fraught with criminal liability for complicity in a crime.
Also, a popular scheme is blackmail. Fraudsters with deception extort from the teenager personal information, and then they demand money for it.
The expert noted that parents must build trust with children in order to protect them from Internet moders. Teenagers should explain that on the Internet people can be dishonest and therefore do not need to send outsids personal information.
If the child was deceived, it is important to support him, not scold him. Parents can go to school, the police, to Roskomnadzor.
