Wrongly mounted photovoltaic panels can become clock bombs. Explanations of an installer about the fire in Timisoara

A violent fire broke out today in a residential neighborhood in Timisoara, almost completely destroying the roof of a recently renovated house. The owners believe that the fire would have started from a short circuit produced on the photovoltaic panels.

The tragedy brings back the hidden danger behind the photovoltaic boom. “More and more photovoltaic systems are installed by unauthorized companies, with cheap materials and without respecting the norms. And with them, a danger is not talking enough: the fires,” warns Albert Soare, General Manager of the kilowat company.

In the chase after the savings, more and more Romanians are resorting to installers who offer lower prices, but who do not have the necessary training to comply with the strict norms of a complex electrical system. And the results can be devastating. “A correctly unpublished cable, an inappropriate safety, a false connector-there are details that can turn an investment into a disaster outbreak,” says Albert Soare.

As the market is filled with installers without certifications, the risk that such incidents will become more and more frequent increases alarmingly. “And we are only at the beginning. There is a risk of finding out several destroyed homes. Several families who lose everything,” he adds.

The call of the specialists is clear: consumers must carefully check the companies with which they collaborate, and the authorities must urgently intervene to regulate the market. “Because we are not just talking about energy efficiency. We talk about the safety of some houses, about lives endangered,” adds the specialist.

The fire in Timisoara could be just the beginning of a wave of tragedies, if this problem continues to be ignored.

We recall that a violent fire consumed the roof of a house in Timisoara. The son of the owners, the one who called 112, said that because of the panels, the outside safety was hot and caught fire.

The firefighters confirmed the words of the owners' son and established that the fire started from a short circuit to the electric panel.
