The oldest cemetery of Krasnoyarsk will become a tourist attraction

By the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk, they will develop the concept of improvement and development of the oldest cemetery in the city-Troitsky necropolis. This was reported in the city hall.
Trinity Necropolis is an object of cultural heritage, included in the Unified State Register of the Russian Federation. The area of the cemetery is 21 hectares. There are buried people who have made a great contribution to the life of the city, edges and country. Among them are the revolutionaries Joseph Dubrovinsky and Suren Spandaryan, artist Dmitry Karatanov, architect Vladimir Sokolovsky, opera singer Peter Slovtsov, mother of the artist Vasily Surikov and Patrony Gennady Yudin.
In addition, several mass graves of war and revolutions are located in the cemetery. The Trinity Church and 31 burial are monuments of cultural heritage and are under the protection of the state.
“Visiting the graves of outstanding figures who created the history of Krasnoyarsk is now quite difficult. There is no navigation, convenient ways, the opportunity to get acquainted with historical certificates, and so on. Troitsky necropolis is planned to be turned into a tourist and cultural attraction. Such experience has long been used in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other world capitals. The cemeteries there are museums where excursions are led, they are arranged by educational and memorial events, ”the city administration explained.
This year, it is necessary to develop a concept for the development of the territory of the Trinity Necropolis and scientific and project documentation. It will need to be agreed with the service for the protection of monuments, and to receive a positive conclusion from the state historical and cultural examination. In addition, the contractor will have to create sketching projects for the development of the territory.
Specialists have already developed a technical task. In the near future, bidding will be announced to search for a contractor for work. To make the necessary documents, he will also have to make topographic survey of the territory.
We add that at the proposal of the Service for the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects, they also plan to create tourist routes in the churchyard. To do this, the cemetery will carry out functional zoning of the territory, equip the tropic with lighting, develop and introduce the navigation system, install benches, urns, service points and toilets.
