Former actress-child Sophie Nyweide died at the age of 24

American actress Sophie Nyweide has died at the age of 24, her family has announced. An obituary published online does not mention the cause of death, but states that Nyweide died on April 14, The Guardian reports.

“Sophie was a gentle and confident girl,” the obituary writes. “Often, this made her vulnerable to those who took advantage of her. She wrote and drawn with passion, and a large part of her art reflects the depth she had, but also the pain she went through. Many of her writings and drawings are maps of the struggles and traumas she experienced,” she notes.

“Even with these maps, diagnoses and their own revelations, the ones closest to her, along with the therapists, police officers and other people who tried to help her, are with a broken heart because their efforts have not been able to save her […] He always said he would 'handle' alone and felt the need to reject the treatments that could have saved his life, ”the obituary continues.

Nyweide first appeared on the screen at the age of six, in the role of the main character in the moving drama BELLabout a chef with a mysterious past who spends a day with a waitress at a difficult time.
