Two rounds of negotiations between Iran and the US
Iran and the US have already had two rounds of negotiations to try to revive the nuclear agreement, discussions that both parties have qualified as constructive, and a new meeting will take place next Saturday.
We recall that after the second round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington on the nuclear program, the national press in Iran announced that the country has strengthened its position in front of the US.
China has limited Iran's nuclear program
China is one of the signatory countries of the 2015 agreement that limited Iran's nuclear program in exchange for lifting sanctions and from which President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew in 2018, during his first term at the White House.
Beijing repeatedly expressed its support for the use of diplomacy in the Iranian nuclear file.
Abbas Araqchi has already visited China in December last year, on which occasion he assured his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, that “The deepening of the strategic partnership with China is a priority for Iranian foreign policy.”
Wang then pleaded for a “Diplomatic resolution” of the nuclear conflict and expressed its opposition to “Unilateral sanctions ” imposed on Tehran.
On Wednesday's visit, the two foreign ministers will also discuss the 25-year-old economic cooperation agreement that Iran and China signed in 2021.
