Marjorie Taylor Greene, an ultra-trumpy member of the US Congress, celebrated the death of Pope Francis on X, writes Corriere from Sera.
“Today,” she wrote on her X account, which is followed by 1.5 million people, “there have been great changes in world leadership. The evil is defeated by God's hands.” However, the message is quite ambiguous, but not for the Italian press, who considers it against the Pope, who died on Sunday, at 88.
To Greene – who declares himself “Christian” in his biography on the social network owned by Elon Musk – was suspended the profile on the social media platform, which was still called Twitter, because he posted misinformation about Covid.
Previously related to the conspiracy group Qanon, Greene has always supported Trump's accusations of alleged fraud at the last 2020 elections.
The posting about the pope's death caused hundreds of protests from the pursuers. “You are a shame for America,” he wrote a user who presents himself as a “worried Republican”.
