A Delta Air Lines aircraft that had nearly 300 passengers on a motor fire at Orlando International Airport in Florida Monday, and passengers were evacuated even with a slide, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to Reuters.
The Airbus A330 aircraft was going to take off to Atlanta when the engine caught fire. FAA has announced that it will investigate the situation.
The motor fire is the most recent event in a series of large aviation incidents that have raised question marks in terms of American aviation sector safety. In one of the cases, on January 29, there was a collision between a regional plane and an army helicopter near the Reagan National Airport in Washington, resulting in 67 deaths.
Delta Air Lines said that the 1213 Monday's flight had 282 passengers and a crew made up of 12 members and that no victims were reported at the moment.
The Delta flight crews “followed the procedures for evacuation of the passenger cab when flames were observed in the exhaust pipe of one of the two aircraft engines,” says the company.

Orlando International Airport representatives told social networks that the fire took place in the ramp area and that the fire extinguishing team intervened promptly.
Delta mentioned that maintenance teams will examine the aircraft.
In March, the engine of an American aircraft Airlines caught fire while running to the Denver airport gate, and passengers were evacuated on the aircraft wing.
