A Moscow court found Alphabet, who owns Google, guilty of disclosing the personal data of Russian military who died in Ukraine, reported the Russian Tass news agency on Monday, citing judicial documents, according to Reuters.
The court documents say that, in a video published on YouTube, there were disclosed information on losses in Ukraine of Russian military, as well as their personal data, according to TASS.
For several years, Russia has ordered foreign technological platforms to eliminate the content it considers illegally, such as what it calls “forgeries” about the Ukraine war, applying small, but persistent fines, when it finds non -observations.
Google did not respond immediately to a Reuters comment request, sent by email outside of work hours.
Russian authorities avoid publicly revealing the real number of Russian military in the Ukraine war.
Russia's president Vladimir Putin accused Google in December of being a tool used by the US government, led by former president Joe Biden, to obtain political points.
