A 40 -year -old Ukrainian citizen who crossed the border in Romania through the Maramureş Mountains is to be recovered by the team of Salvamontists and Border Police, the director of the Salvamont Maramureş County Public Service, Dan Benga, quoted by Agerpres informed.

The Ukrainian is in the vicinity of the Pop Ivanu peak, at over 1,700 meters altitude and would be on the mountain for several days.

“There is a search-rescue action (…) in the Maramureş Mountains, the area of ​​Pop Ivan, to find and extract a 40-year-old Ukrainian citizen in the mountains. The Ukrainian called 112 asking for help and claiming that he has no possibility to orient in the field, he is without provisions and without water. STS, just to not enter one of the extremely dangerous areas and to endanger their lives, ”said Dan Benga.

According to him, the extraction operation of the Ukrainian citizen is supported by a border police crew, the Poienile de Sub Munte, border locality with Ukraine.
