It is the symbol of the eternity of the human spirit and the overcoming of death by faith. It is the action that totally changes the meaning of humanity from a spiritual point of view.

On Saturday night towards Sunday, the greatest mystery of Christianity took place, its dogmatic foundation, the event that changed from the foundations of humanity and its systems of values, at least from a theological point of view. It is about the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. Priests and theologians say that this moment has been a total change, unprecedented, in the spiritual life of mankind, a hope and at the same time a “stake” of Christian life.

“” After the Saturday passed, when the first day of the week (no on Sunday), Maria Magdalena and the other Marie came, to see the grave. And here was a great earthquake, that the angel of the Lord, descending from heaven and coming, collapsed and the stone was shown and he was on the light. They were made as dead. Do not be afraid, that I know that the crucified Jesus. You are looking for him. He is not here, he rose, as he said. Come and see the place where the Lord was placed. And, rather, tell, tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and here he will go before you in Galilee; You will see him there. Here, I told you >> “is shown after the Gospel after Matthew.

Jesus showed up to the apostles, believers and relatives

The resurrection was prophesied by Jesus and was well known to the Pharisees who put guard people at the grave. They believed that the supporters of Jesus would steal his body to make the world believe that he had truly raised. “And the next day, which is after Friday, the archers and the Pharisees at Pilate gathered, saying: Lord, we remembered that the deceit said, being still alive: after three days I will get up. Also.is shown in the Gospel after Matthew. After the resurrection, Jesus Christ showed Mary, the apostles, but also to a whole multitude of 500 believers. There were a total of ten recorded appearances of Jesus after the resurrection.

Resurrection gave the Christian's life meaning

From a theological point of view, the resurrection of Christ is the zero point of Christianity. Priests and theologians say that this unique event has transformed Christianity into something more than a religion. Through resurrection, Christ showed another meaning of life. Death is only a passage and not a terminus point of existence. Death can be defeated, and Jesus was the living example, the supreme demonstration offered to people. And to reach eternal life, a new behavior, based on faith and love, is needed. It is a “stake” that offered, to Christians, a purpose.

“This beautiful life that we have as a blessing but also as a challenge from God, lived on this earth, has a meaning, because whatever we do and fulfill in this world it has an echo in eternal life. Without the resurrection of Christ, says the Holy Father Dumitru Staniloae, the whole universe would be a necropolis. With the resurrection of Christ, we people, from this earth and from this world we can taste the joy beyond, when we do a good, when we manage to have an authentic prayer, when we have sincere love for our fellows, when we are in particular with the Body. Existence, a life of joy, light, hope, love ”says the priest Partenie Apostoaie, parish at the Vovidenia Church in Botosani.

For his part, Father Dumitru Stăniloae, an important Romanian theologian, said that by resurrection, that is, by defeating death and revealing the spectrum of eternal life, Jesus Christ offered humanity more precious than anything in the world, namely hope. The idea that life does not stop at the time of death (spiritually), gives a special strength to the faithful man.

“There is no faith that will give so much the basis of joy and fulfillment of the conception of the world as that in the resurrection of Christ (…) Christ the Resurrected, by the very fact that he has risen, gives us strength in the midst of life, gives our pasture among them man.Father Dumitru Stăniloae said, quoted in the work “Christ the Risen and our earthly life”, culture and spirituality (1937-1941) “.

A model of Christian life to achieve the supreme goal: Salvation

Resurrection represents the foundation stone and the most important event of Christianity and because it has offered a model to be followed, a way to reach the supreme purpose: salvation. From a theological point of view, salvation means total communion with God and, after bodily death, the acquisition of eternal life, that revealed by Jesus by the act of resurrection. And salvation is obtained through an authentic Christian life. Through resurrection, Jesus offered the path and truth of this authentic Christian life, which implicitly leads to eternal spiritual existence and existence.

“In an increasingly disoriented world, in an increasingly disturbed world, and without meaning, in a depressed and cunning world, Christ comes and says, I am the path, the truth and the authentic life, the path that does not wander, the truth that does not lie and life that does not die.”says the priest Partenie Apostoaie. “From it (from the resurrection) we share and be enthusiastic. Christ is closer to ourselves than we can imagine. From His resurrection, the life of forever grows in our faith.”Father Dumitru Staniloae also stated.

And this stake, offered by the Resurrection, that of the possibility of defeating death and obtaining eternal life, strengthens man and gives him enough reason to fight against passions, evil. “Only the perspective of the resurrection gives us the power to carry out the true struggle required by it: the fight against passions, the struggle for sensitization, for transparency, for communion, for the resemblance to Christ, the power of the one who raised us in this way.”adds Dumitru Staniloae.

The importance of this moment of resurrection, for Christianity, is best underlined by Saint Paul. He states that without resurrection, the preaching of the new religion would have been futile. “If Christ is not resurrected, it is futile then our preaching, vain and faith.”says Saint Paul in “Corinthians”.
