It is the symbol of the eternity of the human spirit and the overcoming of death by faith. It is the action that totally changes the meaning of humanity from a spiritual point of view.

On Saturday night towards Sunday, the greatest mystery of Christianity took place, its dogmatic foundation, the event that changed from the foundations of humanity and its systems of values, at least from a theological point of view. It is about the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. Priests and theologians say that this moment has been a total change, unprecedented, in the spiritual life of mankind, a hope and at the same time a “stake” of Christian life.

And to reach eternal life, a new behavior, based on faith and love, is needed. It is a “stake” that offered, to Christians, a purpose.

“This beautiful life that we have as a blessing but also as a challenge from God, lived on this earth, has a meaning, because whatever we do and fulfill in this world it has an echo in eternal life. Without the resurrection of Christ, says the Holy Father Dumitru Staniloae, the whole universe would be a necropolis. With the resurrection of Christ, we people, from this earth and from this world we can taste the joy beyond, when we do a good, when we manage to have an authentic prayer, when we have sincere love for our fellows, when we are in particular with the Body. Existence, a life of joy, light, hope, love ”says the priest Partenie Apostoaie, parish at the Vovidenia Church in Botosani.

For his part, Father Dumitru Stăniloae, an important Romanian theologian, said that by resurrection, that is, by defeating death and revealing the spectrum of eternal life, Jesus Christ offered humanity more precious than anything in the world, namely hope. The idea that life does not stop at the time of death (spiritually), gives a special strength to the faithful man.

Resurrection represents the foundation stone and the most important event of Christianity and because it has offered a model to be followed, a way to reach the supreme purpose: salvation. From a theological point of view, salvation means total communion with God and, after bodily death, the acquisition of eternal life, that revealed by Jesus by the act of resurrection. And salvation is obtained through an authentic Christian life. Through resurrection, Jesus offered the path and truth of this authentic Christian life, which implicitly leads to eternal spiritual existence and existence.

The importance of this moment of resurrection, for Christianity, is best underlined by Saint Paul. He states that without resurrection, the preaching of the new religion would have been futile. “If Christ is not resurrected, it is futile then our preaching, vain and faith.”says Saint Paul in “Corinthians”.
