Pope Francis, who is still very weak by the disease, took a surprise walk on Saint Peter Square on Sunday, along with thousands of believers gathered to celebrate Easter, France Presse reports.

Just one month after leaving the hospital, where he was about to die because of a double pneumonia, the 88-year-old pope spent about 15 minutes by touring his market in his “Papamobil”, blessing children in an enthusiastic atmosphere, flanked by numerous body guards.

A few minutes earlier, he had appeared in a wheelchair, without oxygen nasal tubes, at the balcony of Saint Peter to give the traditional blessing “Urbi et Orbi” (to the city and the world).

“Dear brothers and sisters, happy Easter!,”

“I am moved by his power, because he is sick and very old. He is an Argentine like us. He is one of us. We feel blessed,” said AFP in the eyes, Maria Repezza, an Argentinian aged 58.

Paring tired and having difficulty expressing himself despite his improved respiratory capacity, Francis delegated to an assistant to read his text, in which he appeals to respecting “freedom of thought and expression” and urges leaders “not to give in to the logic of fear”.

“How much contempt is sometimes shown to the weakest, marginalized and migrants,” he said, appealing to “breaking the barriers that create divisions.”

A few moments before that, Francis received American vice -president JD Vance for a “private meeting” that lasted “a few minutes”, the discussion sells two months after the Pontiff who strongly criticized Donald Trump's policy against migrants.
