Lidl's customer recorded store employees. The network responds to the allegations

A short recording from Lidl in Nowy Tomyśl (Greater Poland Voivodeship) appeared on Tikktok. It shows how the store employees collect blueberry scattered on the floor. The author of the film claimed that then the fruits collected were salesed again. Some of such packages were to be discounted.
In an interview with the O2.pl portal, the network representative explained that the fruits fell apart by accident. At the same time, she denied the blueberries to return to store shelves. “The product has been withdrawn from sales according to the procedure,” said Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz, director of Corporate Affairs and CSR in Lidl.

At the same time, Robaszkiewicz emphasized that the discount of fruit, which was recorded on the recording, is not related to their scattering. “The discount of blueberries visible on the recording resulted from the earlier date of delivery and was made before the event,” said the network representative later in the conversation with o2.pl.

Lidl assured that the quality and safety of the products offered are of key importance for the network. “Every day we also carry out inspections of the freshness of fruit and vegetables in all our stores” – emphasized Robaszkiewicz.
