USR also receives prohibition from the CNA to organize an election campaign for Nicușor Dan, after the BEC decision.
The CNA points out that no political party is allowed to use antenna times in favor of a candidate other than the official registered in the electoral race. The clarification comes in the context of the BEC decision, which decided on Saturday, April 12, to eliminate all the USR electoral materials after the party withdrew for Elena Lasconi and decided to support Nicușor Dan.

Bec emphasizes that, “As long as the USR party has a candidate participating in the electoral competition, in the first round, this political formation cannot make an election campaign of any kind to another candidate in the same electoral process.”
In a statement sent on Tuesday, April 15, and quoted by Agerpres, the CNA reminds that the period allocated to the candidates for the request of the antenna times was March 24-April 3, 2025, according to the CNA decision no. 86/2025. Throughout this interval, the candidates had the opportunity to address the private radio and television stations to request shows and spots of electoral promotion.
“Antenna times distributed for a candidate can be used strictly for that candidate. This opinion is also based on the principle that the antenna times are distributed equally, according to the legal provisions”, said Valentin-Alexandru Jucan, Vice President of the CNA.
The Council emphasizes that supporting another candidate in the shows of electoral promotion or through advertising spots represents a violation of the legal provisions. Even if the BEC decision 297D/12.04.2025 concerns the online campaign, the principle is the same: the parties cannot support other candidates after the finalization of the candidates.
The CNA specifies that it will monitor compliance with the legal provisions regarding the distribution of antenna times and asks the broadcasters to prove that they have offered equitable access to all candidates.
USR announced that it will attack the BEC decision in court by which it is forbidden to promote the independent candidate Nicușor Dan, accusing an abuse.
