The students from vulnerable environments received 500 lei each. MIPE: Near 84,000 cards were loaded
The Ministry of Investments and European Projects has loaded today, April 15, 2025, a number of 83,967 educational cards worth 500 lei, intended for students from vulnerable environments. The total value of the support given today amounts to 41,983,000 lei.

In addition to these loads, 2,991 new cards have been issued and will be in possession of the beneficiaries. At the same time, 29,785 cards already issued are in the process of receipt from the beneficiary, to be verified and loaded as soon as the procedure is completed.
In total, for the school year 2024–2025, approximately 669,599 preschoolers and students are eligible, well over the initial estimates (compared to 523.132 beneficiaries in the previous school year). So far, 551,445 cards have already been loaded, MIPE making sustained efforts to receive their proper support.
In addition, MIPE continues the implementation of social measures for other vulnerable categories. Thus, last week, 860 cards with the amount of 2,000 lei were charged, related to the support program for mother couples-newborn disadvantaged, money that provides young mothers the basic products for the care of their newborn.
The support offered to the students is part of the project “Educational support for preschoolers and students disadvantaged from pre -school, primary and secondary state education”, funded by the Inclusion and Social Dignity Program 2021–2027. According to GEO no. 83/2023, the social vouchers on electronic support in the amount of 500 lei are granted for a period of 4 years, starting with the school year 2023-2024.
Cards can be used for the purchase of materials needed to attend school and kindergarten – supplies, stationery, painting articles, backpacks and clothes – thus contributing to reducing school dropout and increasing inclusion in education.
Also, the cards can only be used on the territory of Romania and only in the affiliated units. Another essential aspect to be known: cannot be issued the rest of the money in cash, at the units where the supplies or clothing necessary to attend school and kindergarten are purchased.
The social ticket on electronic support for educational support has a validity period of one year from the date of issue, without understanding that this is the validity period of the electronic support. The financial support of 500 lei is granted only once for a whole school year, in a unique installment. Depending on the evolution of family revenues, those who have the right to this support measure will receive the amounts due on electronic tickets.
