YouTube began developing a timer to limit the time of Shorts views. About this writes RBC with reference to TechCrunch.
According to the code fragments, which are given by the publication, users will be able to set the daily limit to watch short videos in the application. After its achievement, scrolling with auto production of Shorts will stop. At the same time, it is noted that the tool will not block the video access completely – you can familiarize yourself with individual videos
YouTube is already inviting everyone to “take a break” while watching content. Video -style users can set a reminder that can appear every 15, 30, 60, 90 or 180 minutes. This function with Take A Break was added several years ago.
Recall that in the summer of 2024 it became known that many Russians completely stopped working on YouTube. Roskomnadzor connected a decrease in the quality of the work of the Google departure from Russia. Representatives of the company denied that slowdown was the result of any technical problems or actions on their part.
