“Russian ship with + shadow fleet + covered by sanctions performed suspicious maneuvers near the energy cable connecting Poland with Sweden. After the effective intervention of our army, the ship sailed to one of the Russian ports.

The “shadow fleet” consists of old, dilapidated ships, floating under the bands of third countries – most often African – and used by Russia to avoid sanctions. These ships sell Russian oil at prices exceeding the established ceiling, usually without insurance, which means no liability in the event of an ecological disaster. The West, including the European Union and Great Britain, gradually includes them with additional sanctions.

On Tuesday, the EU and Great Britain announced new sanctions against Russia, which are to cover subsequent ships of the “shadow fleets”.
