Nicușor Dan claims that the members of a party in power have called him to announce that they will attack him in the election campaign

The independent candidate for the presidential elections in May made the statement on Sunday night in a campaign material on Tiktok.

“More acquaintances from PNL called me to apologize in advance that they will have to attack me with some things that are not comfortable,” said Nicușor Dan in the video.

The general mayor of the capital claimed that he worked with the people to whom he refers, without giving details.

“Neither I nor we are happy because we are right people and we collaborated. What to do? It's a campaign! I forgive them. I am convinced that we will continue to collaborate,” Dan said.

The USR leaders decided in a meeting that took place on Wednesday to convene the Political Committee to withdraw the support given to the president of the Elena Lasconi formation in the presidential elections in May and to support Nicușor Dan.

Dominic Fritz asked, in a press conference organized after the meeting, that PNL and UDMR support Nicușor Dan, invoking that PSD does not support Crin Antonescu, and the mayor of the capital is the only “pro-European candidate” with chances at round 2.

The interim president of PNL Cătălin Predoiu said on the same day that the former leader of the Liberals, the candidate of the ruling coalition, Crin Antonescu, is the only candidate who can win the second tour of the presidential elections regardless of the opponent.

He stressed that he did not want to comment on the internal problems of other parties, but stressed that the situation in the USR has a Caragiale Iz.
