“Do we pass the guns on the table?”. Public confrontation between the president of the Romanian Academy and the Minister of Education. From what started

The Minister of Education, Daniel David, and the president of the Romanian Academy, Ioan Aurel-Pop, exchange of replies to a conference, on a subject that has returned to public attention and often aroused controversy: is globalism good or bad?

  • Aurel Ion Pop: “We are globalized and we will live better in a homeland called a planet. But it is not possible. They have tried many years. I mean what the job has with our baking soda?”.
  • Daniel David: “Remove the idea of the system from our mind and we will reach anarchy. How do we establish the rules between us, how do we establish the behaviors between us, how will we interact with each other? We pass the voice of the one who cries the strongest, on the voice of the strongest, with the guns on the table?”

“How was the meaning of the word” homeland “in the last 100 years and what does he mean today for young Romanian?”

After explaining what is his vision of historian on the concept of “homeland”, the president of the Romanian Academy, Ion Aurel Pop, said that “some believe that today the world has changed to such an extent that no fate is needed.”

“We are globalized and we will live better in a homeland called a planet. But it is not possible. They have tried many. The first form of globalization of Europe was the Roman Empire, which has spread on three continents, in fact, not only in Europe. It was a world form, if you want. When I was a child, he wrote 'proletarians from all countries, unite' and the unique hardworking people who will rule all over the world and speak a single language, Russian (…), “he said.

He completed that “Western globalization came and the world thought the nations disappear, (…) because some believed that they were set up at an order.”

The president of the Romanian Academy also said that “the companies that have been successful so far were the companies in which the competition, the competitive, individualistic ones, in which the merit was fundamental”.

“Competition decreases in us”

“The whole West has risen on such competition-banks, finances, all as a whole, industry, modern agriculture-were built by promoting the best people. And this has succeeded in a very simple notion that has reigned so far, not much: the merit.

He then gave a concrete example, which, from his point of view, shows him that “the competition decreases.”

“” I am not allowed to publish the results of the examination of my students with their name and note, because I offend them. I have to put some figures, in fact some numbers. I put the numbers and then they put the note. Each look, some do not recognize the number. They have no idea. I do not know that they have a number.

Daniel David: “It's a fashion: everyone is anti-system, anti-globalist”

A few minutes later, the Minister of Education, Daniel David, expressed his own opinion about globalism.

“You see, it's a fashion, look around us, everyone is anti-system. And all politicians become anti-system. Everyone is anti-globalist. We talk here about balance-very important, I repeat: the world changes around us. Let's keep, to stay in balance. People of the system, become anti-system people, I said publicly and you have probably heard me in recent weeks, precisely to bring an area of this balance: 'I am a man of the system', “the Minister of Education said.

He explained why he believes that. Namely, from his point of view, the system means “a governed society, rules, a society that leads us from a group of homo sapiens to a civilization.”

“When I say 'system', I understand institutions: from kindergarten, to the political area. This means system. Remove the idea of the system and we will reach anarchy. How do we establish the rules between us, how do we establish the behaviors between us, how will we interact with each other? The world?

However, Daniel David was declared “absolutely agree” with those revolted by the Romanian system, “but the change must be done so that the institutions, not to give up and throw them, that we have nothing to do, but to make them work better, closer to people and to work according to rules that we agree today.

“I want a free circulation of ideas, people”

“Globalism, now if globalism understands that you want to cancel the national identity, it is a big problem. And the truth is that, to some extent, in the last forms or in recent years, there were such trends,” said Daniel David.

“But the movement does not have to be anti-globalism. I say, precisely to bring the area of balance, I also declared publicly, knowing that this comes with a lot of swearing: 'I am a globalist.' But I am a globalist in the sense that he wants a free circulation of ideas, I want a free circulation of people. United, but in Austria.

He described as a globalist “in the sense that I want to take the best Romanian, national things, to take them on the world stage, at [Muzeul] Metropolitan, at the universities I go to, in the circles in which I manage to reach the international area ”.

“Let's not talk so easily about anti-system and anti-globalism”

“This is how we should design, otherwise if we go into an anti-globalist movement, we were anti-globalists at one point,” stressed the Minister of Education, reminiscent of the Ceașescu regime.

“We had a civilization and an organization in which we did all the things, we cover our national debt, everything we need here, we have much. Many. Many have caught two hours of electricity and twice a week. We remember those things. anti-system and anti-globalism.

The president of the Romanian Academy, critics to the EU: “Are these work of Europe?”

In response, the president of the Romanian Academy recalled how the globalism “parents of Europe, when they founded the common market in the first decade after World War II”.

“Robert Schuman, Jean Monnet, of Gasper, thought of Europe, as I read, as a Europe of the nations where every nation yields something out of sovereignty to exist. But the languages, traditions, customs are respected. Aurel Pop.

“We take some measures to make all the people Otova, as well. Once an order came to us, I do not think it is a legend, an indication from the European Union, long after we had entered a year-two, not to put baking soda in myth. It's okay.

The subject ended with a conclusion that the two share, spoken by the president of the Romanian Academy: “Globalism is absolutely necessary, (…) We must travel free and as beings, ideas must circulate freely, not stop an idea that it is not good.
