The CBOS survey shows that the percentage of people who knew a foreigner personally increased in 2016-2023 from a third to more than half of the total respondents. Since then, he has stabilized at 55 percent.
It was indicated that Poles notice the presence in our country primarily newcomers from Ukraine, Belarus, countries of the former USSR, such as Georgia or Moldova, and from the Indian Peninsula.
Knowledge of foreigners living in Poland is more likely to declare younger respondents (up to 44 years old) than older ones, especially 65 or more. More often they are people living in the city than in the countryside – especially the inhabitants of the smallest and largest cities. In addition, the higher the education and income of the respondents, the more often such knowledge is declared.
