Kecskemet is the third city where Prime Minister Orban's ruling Fidesz and the country's most important opposition party – TISHA – organize their campaign meetings on the same day.

Parliamentary elections in Hungary are scheduled to take place in April 2026. Most pre-election polls give the advantage of the opposition TISZA, although in recent polls the gap between the country's two main parties has narrowed.

It is good that the United States has a president who works against war. In the face of the fighting taking place in our neighborhood and Europe preparing for war, the only question is whether we will be able to avoid war, said Prime Minister Orban.

He noted that “Diplomatic relations (Europe with Russia) have been severed, sanctions have been imposed, conscription is returning (in Europe) and the transformation into a war economy is underway“Only then will there be a phase of confrontation,” Orban noted.

He stressed that “to avoid being drawn into war, we must make Hungary strong.” – We must learn from history! Next year's elections will be the last elections before the war. The government we choose will be our fate in times of war. With a national government, we have a chance to avoid the worst, said the Hungarian Prime Minister.

Orban refers to his cabinet as the “national government” and accuses his main rival, Peter Magyar, and his group of being dependent on European Union officials and being guided by their priorities.

In his speech, the Hungarian Prime Minister also assured that he was in talks with the USA and Russia to prepare the country for the future.
