In Syracuse, New York, a controller mistakenly cleared a plane to take off on the same runway where another plane was scheduled to land.
The landing pilot noticed the take-off pilot in time and managed to change course. The tragedy was avoided – the planes flew at a distance of only 220 meters from each other.
