A 10 -year prison sentence was imposed by the Court of Appeal in Wrocław, former President of the Polish Health Center Romuald Ś. accused of fraud and actions to the detriment of the company's bondholders. According to the prosecutor's office, as a result of fraud, 600 people lost a total of nearly PLN 80 million.

Judge Robert Zdych emphasized that it could not be undeniably stated that S. or the other accused in this case, were active in an organized criminal group. “The court of first instance, ruling that they operated in an organized criminal group, he somehow moved the structure of the company into the framework of an organized criminal group, and here it is necessary to indicate how the functioning within a legal company from functioning in a criminal group differs,” the judge argued.
The court also reduced the judgments to the other accused in this trial – two members of the management board of PCZ Beata G. and Stanisław P. – imposing them for one year and two months in prison suspended for two years. In the first instance they were sentenced to three years of ruthless prison.
In addition, the court overturned the first instance decision ordering the Romualds of Ś., Beata G. and Stanisław P. repairing the damage caused and returned to the victims of lost money – a total of about PLN 60 million, as well as payment to Bank Millennium nearly PLN 19 million. The judge Zdych, explaining such a decision, emphasized that there was already a “partial satisfaction of creditors.”
The Court of Appeal also set aside the judgment from first instance against Jan M. and Zofia Sz. And he referred the case to reconsideration. As part of the investigation, the prosecutor's office secured property with a total value of PLN 54 millioncovering several dozen luxury cars, cash, jewelry, collector's numismatics and luxury apartments and other real estate.
