“We have a well -developed plan, we know what we have to do next,” said George Simion, asked by Hotnews on Friday, at a press conference, about the support given by former candidate Călin Georgescu in the election campaign.

“From the moment she was rejected until now, Călin Georgescu has not publicly sent any support for you yesterday, in a 38-minute interview with Tucker Carlson, in which she spoke about the elections in Romania, will you not say the name. Do Mr. Călin Georgescu in the race for Cotroceni?”

The President of Gold started by transmitting that “this press conference is mainly addressed to the alternative press, the local press, the influences” and urged “Hotnews to take into account the future of the different opinions in society”.

Then he cataloged the question as “rhetoric” and praised the presence of Călin Georgescu at Tucker Carlson saying that he is the first Romanian to have this “honor.

“It is a rhetorical question, I think Mr. Georgescu used the 38 minutes that no one in Romania had the honor to have in the presence of a great journalist in the US, one of the first to position on the truth, justice and stayed with Trump when almost no one has done this,” George Simion replied.

“We have a well -developed plan. We know what we have to do next. There is no one from the sovereign movement started by Călin Georgescu to doubt this,” Simion said.

Former candidate's public messages

The interview given to Tucker Carlson was Călin Georgescu's first public exit after the Constitutional Court permanently invalidated the candidacy in the MIA presidential elections.

The previous public statements that Georgescu made had been on March 11, when the CCR kept the decision to not register his candidacy for the presidential elections 2025 initially given by the bulb.

“I think my mission was accomplished,” said Georgescu on March 11.

He also had a message on Facebook on March 27, when he wrote a short message for his supporters, who, the day before, on March 26, had come out on the street to famous birthday.

“My dear, I saw you, I heard you and I felt in your heart! Thank you,” Calin Georgescu wrote at that time.

Georgescu's message had come after more than a few weeks of silence.

Two demonstrations of support of Călin Georgescu took place in parallel on March 26, when Călin Georgescu turned 63. More than 1,000 people gathered in the Constitution Square where they sang “Happy Birthday” to the former presidential candidate and have gathered signatures for “Tour 2 back”.

Another demonstration, organized by gold, took place in Victoriei Square, where the Gold candidate was present in the presidential elections, George Simion. Initially, people gathered in front of the headquarters of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP). Those in the Constitution Square refused to join the gold organized meeting.
