Cornea transplant and complex surgery, at Dr. Holhoș Hospital

As a son of this city, born and raised in Alba Iulia, I am very proud that we have managed to complete here, following some stretched efforts for several years, this project of our, which crowns almost 15 years of work for the benefit of our patients in Alba and from all Transylvania ”, says Dr. Teodor Holhoș, ophthalmologist surgeon and the founder of the ophthalmology clinic network that bears his name. “Initially, the idea of developing a private hospital started from the desire to perform ophthalmological operations that require hospitalization, such as the cornea transplant. Another reason was that, although we managed to reach a level of competence that allows us to operate very complex cases, we did not have the necessary infrastructure, respectively, I made the decision to develop a hospital with wider addressability, to host several medical specialties. ”

The opening of Dr. Holhoș hospital covers an acute need for ophthalmological patients in Transylvania, where so far no cornea transplants could be performed, as they can only be done in hospital environment, with hospitalization and the possibility of postoperative supervision of the patient. At our hospital, patients will be able to benefit from specialized medical services without moving to Cluj or Sibiu, so access to treatments will be much easier.
