Shocking reports from Afghanistan. The Taliban carried out public executions

According to AFP on Thursday, local authorities called on administration and citizens employees to take part in public executions, prohibiting all cameras and mobile phones to prevent the distribution of photos.
Two men were lost in front of 20,000 people gathered at the stadium in Kala-i naves, the capital of the Badghis province in the northwestern part of the country, was announced by the Afghan Supreme Court, on which the AFP cited the message.
The execution was carried out by relatives of the victims, shooting convicts with firearms, in accordance with the principle of Islamic law called “Qisas” (retaliation). Families of convicts turned to close victims, asking for grace, but this request was rejected.
The highest Taliban leader agreed to executions
The third man was lost in the city of Zarandż, the capital of the province of Nimoz in the southwest of the country. Also in this case, the execution took place in public, at the stadium filled to the brim. The fourth convicted was killed in Farah, in a province of the same name, in the west of the country.
According to a court message, the execution orders were signed by the Supreme Taliban leader, Emir Hibatullah Achundzada.
Public executions were common during the first Taliban regime, in 1996-2001, but their number was significantly limited from their return to Kabul in the summer of 2021. Since then, six men convicted for murder were lost (this number does not include the latest four executions).
In 2024, over 1,500 people lost all over the world
The last public execution in Afghanistan took place at the stadium in the north of the country in November 2024, in the presence of several high -ranking representatives of the authorities.
According to a report of the Amnesty International NGO published on Tuesday, “the number of executions in 2024 reached the highest level in 2024 since 2015” and amounted to over 1,000 500 people lost in 15 countries.
According to Amnesty, most of these executions were carried out in China, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
