Boguchanskaya HPP personnel are preparing for the fire season

3 March 13:42
A comprehensive action plan has been put into effect at the Boguchanskaya HPP to prepare for the 2026 fire season.
The document, developed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the order of the RusHydro Group, is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted operation of the station’s equipment, buildings and structures during summer temperature peaks. The station was built on the territory of the Kezhemsky municipal district, which is one of the most forested in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, so fire protection issues are among the priority tasks of the enterprise.
Preparation is divided into several stages. Until the end of March, specialists will update data on objects located in the potential risk zone and work out algorithms for interaction with authorities and departments of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. In parallel with this, reserves of special equipment, equipment and materials necessary to eliminate possible emergency situations are being replenished.
Particular attention is paid to the fire safety condition of the infrastructure: switchgears, fuel and lubricants warehouses and production bases are subject to inspections. To ensure unhindered passage of fire equipment to hydrants, piers and reservoirs, access roads will be put in order.
Station staff will inspect and, if necessary, update signs indicating the location of fire suppression equipment. The plan includes mandatory training for personnel and comprehensive testing of fixed fire extinguishing systems. A review of the readiness of the station's forces and assets for the start of the season will take place in the first days of April.
An important area of work will be the protection of power lines. Hydroelectric power station specialists will inspect the clearings of overhead lines passing through the forests of the Kodinsky forestry. Special equipment will be in full readiness – an all-terrain vehicle, a tractor for creating mineralized strips and tools for clearing clearings. If necessary, the clearings will be widened, and perimeter plowing will be organized around electrical substations.
After the snowmelt is completed and before the start of the dangerous season, the areas around the Boguchanskaya HPP facilities will be cleared of dry herbaceous vegetation, dead wood, debris and other flammable materials. In accordance with the requirements of the “Fire Safety Rules in Forests,” power engineers will create fire-fighting mineralized strips or other fire barriers on the territory of the station.
Throughout the season, HPP personnel will conduct daily inspections of facilities and monitor the situation, promptly transmitting information about any threats to the operational services of the region.
