The newspaper “Birobidzhan Zvezda” (12+) wrote that the famous American journalist Anna Louise Strong came to Birobidzhan to familiarize themselves with the life, construction and work of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
Anna Louise Strong is the author of many books about the Soviet Union, deputy editor of the English newspaper Moscow Daily News (18+), which is published in Moscow.
In the same newspaper it was reported that the team of artists of the Jewish Autonomous Office of the Jewish Autonomous Region for cultural service of the population went on a long tour along the route: Smilovich – Bira – Birakan – Londoko – Obluchye.

The newspaper informs its readers that in Birobidzhan a meeting of movie materials and workers of stationary and mobile film installations took place. At the meeting, they discussed the state of moviegoing the region and developed measures to expand and improve the work of film installations.
The newspaper tells that the Birobidzhan city committee of the CPSU (B.) hosted a meeting of the heads of enterprises, trading organizations, party organizations and representatives of trade unions on preparations for the celebration of the first of May.

In the newspaper Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda, a message was published that the sausage factory of the regional branch of Myasotta began to work in Birobidzhan.

“The new factory produces 700-800 kilograms of sausages on the day of seven varieties, in addition, it will produce smoked meats (briskets, ham), cook and fry cattle, etc. For the convenience of consumers, all these dishes will be sold in the store on the market on the market area. On April 11, 2013, the MIG newspaper (12+) reported that a cross would be installed on the hill of the DSM in honor of the Cossacks-papers. This initiative was made by the Middle Amur District Cossack Society.
A commemorative inscription will be applied on the monument: “In honor of the Cossacks-papers who mastered the territory of the modern EAO before its education.”

The same newspaper wrote that the deputies of the regional parliament prepared an appeal to the Birobidzhan City Hall with a request to perpetuate the memory of David Fuchsan, the former chief managing trust of Birobidzhantzelinstroy and the former chief economist of the Dalselmash association, Mikhail Homon.

Mikhail Efimovich Homon He worked for 30 years at the Dalselmash plant, including as deputy director for economics. Mikhail was a real innovator, he belonged to many ideas for the development of production, he also stood at the origins of the creation of the Dalselmash Museum of History. Mikhail Homon was the permanent chairman of the State Examination Commission of the Birobidzhan branch of the Khabarovsk Mechanical College.
Mikhail Efimovich was a very versatile person, he was one of the most striking lecturers of the Knowledge Company famous in Soviet times. For successful work in him, he was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR. Mikhail Efimovich died in 2012, a memorial plaque was installed on the house where he lived.
