There is no decision to withdraw US troops from Poland

The US Army leaves Jasionka, but not Poland. The airport in Jasionka was an important hub in the supply chain of American equipment for Ukrainians. As agreed at the NATO summit in Washington (July 2024), the American troops were to be replaced at the airport by NATO from other countries – Poland, Germany, Great Britain and Norway. This operation coincided with the information of the NBC station, which referred to high -level officials from Washington and Europe that the Pentagon takes into account the withdrawal of about 10,000 soldiers from Eastern Europe – from Romania and Poland. American journalists emphasized that the case is not a foregone conclusion, but such a variant is seriously considered.
Pentagon comments
Pentagon was asked about relocation by TVP journalists.
“We don't have any changes to the location of our forces today” – TVP informed Pentagon Press Office.
A spokesman for the US Army command in Europe and Africa explained that due to operational security issues, details of the transfer of equipment from Jasionka equipment cannot be disclosed. The General Staff of the Polish Army confirmed that changes in the airport management structure result from the arrangements taken during the NATO summit. The new dislocation of US units in Poland aims to optimize costs and further support Ukraine as part of the NSAT mission.
