The Municipal Hospital in Timisoara remained without a sanitary authorization and risks not receiving money from CNAS

Timisoara Municipal Hospital remained without a sanitary authorization, after the current management did not submit an extension request to the Timiş Public Health Directorate, writes News.ro. In the absence of this authorization, the hospital may no longer receive money from the County Health Insurance House. The medical unit is subordinated to the Timisoara City Hall.

According to DSP Timiş, the management of the Municipal Hospital should have submitted the documents 30 days before the old authorization expires on April 8, 2025, according to the regulations. The manager Flavia Zară submitted a new request for issuing the authorization only on April 7, but the hospital having 11 locations, it was not possible to authorize in a single day.

According to DSP Timiş, if on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the hospital does not obtain the document, it remains without the financing contract with a county health insurance house. In this case, patients will have to pay for hospitalization, consultations, surgery and treatments.

“The Timişoara Municipal Emergency Clinical Hospital submitted during 07.04.2025 the request for issuing a new operating authorization, registered with DSPJ Timiş with no. 9044/07.04.2025. Before reaching the term, as stipulated in the legal provisions (art 12 paragraph 4 of WHO 1030/2009). To the chief doctor ”, the representatives of the Timiş Public Health Directorate said.

The management of the Timişoara Municipal Hospital sent a representative to DSP Timiş on Wednesday to solve the situation.
