The previous PZU Board was acting to the detriment of the company? Such suspicions have new authorities and reported the case to the prosecutor's office. It is about the payment of PLN 10 million in compensation for the Lux Veritatis Foundation related to Father Tadeusz Rydzyk.

As RMF FM unofficially learned, according to the notifying ones there were no grounds to pay this amount primarily because the claim expired. On the other hand, the activities of the insurer's employees consisted in finding any opportunities to pay this money to the religious.

The case concerns TG-2 geothermal well realized in 2009-14. Lux Veritatis Foundation undermined the quality of the well -made well by the state -owned company for the search for Nafta and Gas Jasło from the PGNiG group and submitted a claim in 2020, demanding PLN 75 million, although the work was completed many years earlier. PZU employees had numerous doubts – including Whether there was damage at all or the amount requested was not overstated and whether the claim is not time -barred. Despite this, actions were taken to pay compensation.

In the course of the proceedings, an expertise was commissioned to one of the recognized insurance specialists, which clearly indicated that there were no grounds for paying money. However, the expert was to hear suggestions to change the content of the opinion, which could enable payment. When he refused, his expertise was not attached to the case file. At the same time, problems with foreign reinsurance companies appeared, which also did not want to pay money, considering the claim to be time -barred.

Despite these difficulties, there was a settlement with the Lux Veritatis Foundation on October 12, 2023, i.e. just before the parliamentary elections. Reasural covered PLN 2 million, and the remaining 8 million. The notification to the prosecutor's office also included allegations against PZU employees of the introduction of foreign partners – they were to claim that there were grounds for a settlement, although they knew that the claim was time -barred.
