Italy will request the EU to suspend the “crazy” regulations in the European Ecological Pact

The Italian government intends to ask the European Union to suspend the regulations considered “crazy” within the European Ecological Pact (Green Deal) in the context in which the economy on the continent must cope with the new rates imposed by Donald Trump.

The statement belongs to Adolfo Urso, the Minister for Companies and Products “Made in Italy”, who believes that it would be a first measure to support European companies after former US President Donald Trump has imposed high rates in the United States.
“The European Union must release the creative energy of companies, which has been stifled by the regulatory system“, Said Adolfo Urso, present at the opening of the Milan furniture Salon.
“We will ask the EU a shock measure to suspend some of the crazy rules in Green Deal, which condemned the economic system to decline.” continued the Italian minister, quoted by the ANSA.
Adolfo Urso's claims come after the Italian prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, said she wants to suspend certain measures in Green Deal regarding the auto industry and in the context of speculation that she is going to have a meeting with Donald Trump in Washington in the near future.
“Italy will present its proposals, including, as far as possible, on the bilateral level. (…) everyone asks the Prime Minister Meloni to play a deck role, something that should never be missing, especially in the most difficult times. It is absolutely necessary to avoid a escalation of the tariffs and the reprisals of the type”, we have the costs “, said the Italian official.
“We must target a zero customs duties system between the two banks of the Atlantic, including to reunify the West when, as today, it has to cope with a global competitive challenge,” he concluded.
